Instagram is the most visual social platform on the market and is arguably the most valuable asset you’ll have in your tool kit for B2C marketing. If you’ve already got an Instagram account, skip on to the next post for some tips and strategies for posting engaging content on Instagram. in the last post, we discussed how to create a Twitter Page for your business.
Instagram is primarily a mobile app, so you can be certain that your audience will be browsing Instagram from a mobile device. Start by installing the app from app store.
You can sign up to Instagram with either a phone number or email address.
Next, enter your full name and a password you’ll remember. You also have the option to add a photo which will appear as your profile photo, so it’d be a safe bet to set this as your company logo.
Choose your Username
Your username is what people will search to find you. If at all possible, make this your business name. In the example, you can see I’ve named mine “puppyaccessories”.
Find your Facebook friends
Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram worked out great for us as the end user as there is a strong integration between Instagram and Facebook. A good place to start building your audience is to connect with your Facebook friends. Simply select Find your Facebook friends and select which ones you’d like to connect with.
Finish your account setup
Congratulations, you’re officially on Instagram! In contrast to what you’re used to, Instagram’s navigation is along the bottom of the screen. To finish your account setup, select the profile tab at the bottom right of the screen and then select Edit Your Profile.
Be sure to link to your website and add a bio telling browsers what your business is about.
