How to earn money from home

If you’re looking to earn a little extra income over the next few months, whether you’re looking for a small side hustle or looking for more of a permanent thing, we’re going to be talking about a few different ways of how to earn more money from home.

Turn your hobby into a side hustle

Something that has been popularised by the worldwide lockdown has been turning your hobby into a monetizable side hustle. Most hobbies can be turned into a profitable business and with most businesses now making the move online, selling on your own website or on a marketplace is a great way to earn some extra income.

There are benefits to having your own website rather than using a marketplace such as not having to pay certain types of fees on your orders or forced advertising fees that can’t be opted out of. But marketplaces are a good place to start if you don’t want to invest a little seed money into your own website initially.

Whether you sell your handmade items or you look into a print on demand type business, selling online is a very lucrative option to make some money on the side.

Affiliate programmes

Another way to generate income that not many people take advantage of, are affiliate programmes for larger businesses. An affiliate programme is where you essentially refer someone else to use a business service, and when they do you receive a percentage share, which can either be the lifetime share or the price share of that customer. It will completely depend on what the business has chosen for its affiliate programme.

Why not take a look at EKM’s Affiliate programme where you can earn an unrivalled 25% share of the lifetime value for every customer you refer.

Once you’ve signed up for an affiliate program or a few, there are many ways you can market the products or services that you’re recommending. One of the more powerful and impactful ways is to utilise social media to recommend them to your friends and family. Make sure you keep the posts relevant to people who you think may actually be interested in the product, otherwise it may come across as spammy.

Get creative

If you’re more of a creative type you can also sell other services online such as copywriting, graphic design or photography to name a few. You can easily set up an account on sites like freelancer, fiverr or people per hour. These are a great and easy way to build up a client base for your talents and you can eventually move them over to your own website if you choose to do so to help build up your personal brand.

Sell advertising space

If you have a passion for writing, and odd copywriting jobs here and there aren’t doing it for you, why not set up your own blog where you can write about topics to your heart’s content. You may be wondering how this can make you money and I’ll warn you that this isn’t a quick fix option but more of a slow burner.

Writing can attract thousands of people once you’ve built up your audience and reader base and once you have you can start thinking about offering advertising space either through Google Ads or via private advertising space. When you have enough of an audience, you may also be able to look into working with larger brands and doing sponsored reviews of their products and so much more!

The great thing about working online is that you can pretty much do anything you want, sell anything you want and offer any service you want. The internet is a vast space for people to be creative, make money and love what they do. Have you set up a side hustle recently? Let us know by tagging us on social media!
