Google releases ekmPowershop case study

Today Google released an in-depth case study on ekmPowershop’s ongoing mobile strategy. Prompted by our recent talk at Google’s Think Performance event in Munich, the case study explores all of the strategies we’ve put in place over the past few years, and how other businesses can adapt them to get the most out of their mobile traffic.

The study looks at all the approaches we’ve taken to ensure that all visitors to the ekmPowershop website have a seamless experience; regardless of the device they’re on. From responsive web design (RWD) to mobile-specific search ads, there’s a whole range of tactics we’ve put in place with the ultimate goal of creating a great mobile experience for our customers.

The results of the study are really positive and it’s well worth a look. Give the article a read and leave us a comment below, we’d love to know what you think!

  1. Very interesting. I would love to see a section on the ekm orders page that shows whether an order has been done via desktop, phone or tablet. Would be very helpful.

  2. Its almost comical that ekm is focusing on getting responsive design for their own site in order to gain new customers but yet in the 7 months of this year there has been almost no big features. We got product filters and no explanation of how to implement them unless you pay for it.
ekm is so far behind its competitors in terms and technology. They have basically removed the forum by making it inaccessible without a direct link which means its dead on there. They make bad mistake after bad mistake.

    1. Hi Dan,

The reason there have been no ‘big features’ so far this year is largely based on feedback from the forum, customer emails and other feedback. The most active members on the forum regularly posted asking us to focus more on stability and getting everything running smoothly before releasing any new features. As a result, we’ve been focusing on bug fixes, improving core systems and improving our network.

In regards to product filters, a support guide was released at the time of the feature, it can be found here. We’re also in the process of creating a video tutorial which shows the process of setting up product filters visually.

I can assure you that we have some really exciting developments coming which will give you more control of your checkout, delivery, mobile template and much, much more.

  3. I agree! EKM has allowed me to have a website sitting there with limited input in promotion (for now) yet people are finding it and buying. The mobile site is so simple and easy for any consumer. I nearly left EKM at one point but there is too many positive factors such as their mobile set up that keeps me using them.
I will continue to use the service for years to come.
