Businesses all around the world have been finding ways to do their part in supporting customers, local communities, NHS front line workers and small businesses. In the effort to keep up morale and support as many businesses as possible, people have come together around the world to help and big corporations are no different.
Facebook has recently launched a few new features to help out small businesses during this trying time including a ‘Support Small Business” sticker on Instagram and the ability to set up Gift Cards on your Business Instagram page.
New Instagram Features for Business
Recently introduced as a way of helping businesses to expand their audience reach on the platform, the ‘Support Small Business’ sticker can be found when you navigate to add a new story to your profile. When used in your story it can help you to reach new customers and stay connected to them.
If your business is mentioned in the sticker, you’ll be able to repost the content to your story much like you would mention in a story or you have the choice to message the person that tagged you. Another great way to use the feature is to give other businesses in your community a shout out across your network.
When the sticker is used, the story will be added to a shared Instagram story that you may have already seen on your home feed and this means that your followers and other businesses can see other businesses people are following and supporting.
Instagram has also announced that you can now add gift cards to your Instagram profile. If you operate businesses like hairdressers or other service type businesses who aren’t able to open yet, offering a way for your customers to purchase gift cards straight from your Instagram profile is a great way to keep the cash coming in while giving your customers something to look forward to.
Here’s how to set up gift cards on your Instagram account but please note that this feature is currently only available in selected countries. Once you’ve activated the feature you’ll be able to add it to your profile and create your own sticker to include on your stories. Customers will be able to order food, purchase vouchers and more all from your Instagram story.
P.S. EKM has also set up a few different ways to help out businesses and created Obodo to help brick and mortar shops get selling online and for those already selling online, we’ve created a campaign called #dotherightthing where you can take part in a global discount code to help those in need save money where possible.
Let us know if you’ve managed to put these amazing new features to use for your business in the comments.
