EKM’s brand new offices have been opened by The Rt Hon Lord Shuttleworth, the Queen’s representative for Lancashire.
Lord Shuttleworth was given a behind-the-scenes look at our new £3.5m home in Fulwood, before a ceremony marked its official opening.
The tour included our state-of-the-art office space, which has been designed to accommodate 250 employees, as well as our fully equipped kitchen, on-site gym, games room and an auditorium which is available for hire to local businesses.
During the visit, Lord Shuttleworth engaged in a lengthy discussion with company founder Antony Chesworth about the digital economy and its place in Lancashire’s future.
He learned all about our software, how it helps other businesses sell their products online, and how we have grown from a back-bedroom operation to an employer of nearly 100.
Antony said: “We’re exceptionally proud of our new home in Fulwood. It took almost four years of designing, planning and construction but the end result has been worth it: we’ve got a world-class place to work.
“To have Lord Shuttleworth officially open the building has been a great honour and shows how far we have grown as a business.”
Antony added: “Lord Shuttleworth showed a great interest in what we’re doing here. He was impressed by our our company and our new offices, and he was keen to discuss how tech businesses such as ours are putting Lancashire on the world map once more.”
Look out for a digital first from Lord Shuttleworth, when he makes his YouTube debut on Antony’s ‘Life of a UK Entrepreneur’ channel later this autumn.
