We're looking for a Bookkeeper and PA

What does the job entail?

We are looking for an enthusiastic proactive individual to come and help the CEO as his PA to take the company to the next level and also be a financial administrator and bookkeeper to produce monthly management accounts, vat returns and also look after accounts payable.

  • A financially skilled individual who is equally at home running an accounts system or doing administrative and secretarial work.
  • Ideally candidate has 3+ years of bookkeeping experience and at least 1 years’ experience of Xero (including monthly bank reconciliation, payment allocations and journal entries). AAT qualified (or equivalent) bookkeeper.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work with the ability to use your own initiative and to learn new skills.
  • Provide Personal Assistant support to the CEO
  • Manage diaries and organise meetings for the CEO
  • Organising and attending meetings and writing minutes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self motivated, enthusiastic and positive outlook to life
  • Highly organised, proactive individual capable of working autonomously

Roles and responsibilities

  • Daily bookkeeping including:
    • Invoicing
    • Dealing with creditor invoices & payments
    • Preparing & processing payments
    • Entering bank transactions & reconciling the bank
    • Entering payroll journals, making PAYE/NI payments and reconciling control accounts.
  • Preparing, checking and submitting quarterly VAT returns
  • Periodic reporting to the directors
  • Creating, optimising and developing accounting systems & processes
  • Capable of creating and maintaining cashflow forecasts
  • Liaising with company’s external accountant relating to year end accounts
  • Managing the smooth running of the office
  • Processing accounts receivable and payable
  • Organising travel arrangements
  • Providing assistance with personal administration
  • Self-motivated, flexible attitude and good common sense
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines
  • Anything else that is required in the support of the CEOs
